Joy in the City is an initiative that Antioch Church of Long Beach is conducting this year to be a light during these unprecedented times. With these giveaways, we seek to provide the community with hope, encouragement, compassion, and relief from the effects of this unsettling pandemic.

Yes, we are being extra cautious, and making sure the giveaway is safe for the community. All attendees and volunteers are required to wear masks and temperatures are checked before attendees can enter the building. We use shopping windows during the giveaways to ensure social distancing and limit the number of people in the space at all times.
We do one main giveaway every month. Occasionally, we will do a mini pop-up giveaway for a few hours on any given day. If you would like to receive information about the giveaways, please sign up for our mailing list here.
To receive the giveaway registration link, you’ll need to be on our mailing list. Registration fills up quickly, so be sure to register right away. Sign up here.
We must keep the giveaways safe and socially distant, so please do not show up on the day of the giveaway if you did not register. Only those with confirmed registrations will be given entry into the building.
The giveaways are usually from 9:00am-12:00pm.
No, please only arrive 10 minutes before your assigned shopping window. This will help us keep the flow of the giveaway running smoothly.
Please bring your state ID or driver's license and a mask. We will provide you with bags for your items. Please also have a plan in place for how you will transport any bigger items you receive during the giveaway.
1. You may register for yourself only, you may not register multiple times, or use multiple names or email addresses.
2. You may only attend during your ONE assigned shopping window.
3. You must provide a state ID or driver’s license to enter the giveaway.
4. If you are not able to attend the giveaway event for whatever reason, please let us know, and please do not forward your registration to anyone else. They will not be able to use it, as registration to the giveaway is non transferable.
5. Joy in the City will go on RAIN OR SHINE, so please plan accordingly.
6. Please arrive 10 minutes before your assigned shopping window. Please do not arrive any earlier than that.
7. Please be respectful of our staff and volunteers.
8. Please wear a mask, and social distance when waiting to to enter the giveaway
*Anyone caught not following the rules, will be disqualified from future giveaways
In order to be fair, all items for the giveaways are first come, first serve. For the bigger items, like furniture, we conduct a raffle during each assigned shopping window.
All winning items must be picked up by 3:00pm on the day of the giveaway. Please make arrangements beforehand, and have a plan for how you will transport the larger items. Items not picked up by 3:00pm will go to the next person.
